Library members are entitled to 1 hour free computer internet access per day upon presentation of their library card. This is subject to borrowers' appropriate use of their membership (i.e. if you refuse to pay outstanding fines, we refuse to give you free internet access!)
There is unlimited free access to the Public WiFi for patrons to use with their own devices. There are also several power points available for charging.
Members under the age of 16 are entitled to free internet access (PC or WiFi) as long as they present their library card which states whether the parent/guarantor has given permission. Permission is given or witheld at the time of joining, however can be amended by the parent/guarantor speaking to staff in person.
For non members, the charge is 50p per 15 minutes.
All those accessing the internet at Haddenham Community Library must follow the BCC public computer, wireless use and internet policy.
Scanning, Printing, Photocopying:
Printing from the public computers is available, and carries the same charge as photocopying. Here are the charges per sheet:
A4 Black & White - 20p
A3 Black & White - 25p
A4 Colour - 50p
A3 Colour - 75p
Scanning - £1 minimum charge, 25p each additional page (any colour and size)
Patrons are reminded that this is a facility and not a service, and so staff will not necessarily be able to assist you with this, and if they do it is not their responsibility if something goes wrong.
HCL holds a collection of reference books that are not available for borrowing- for the purpose of referring to within the library. Customers are welcome to browse these at their own leisure.
There is a local reference section with rare books on the topic of Haddenham and other parts of Buckinghamshire. Some are available to borrow and some are for reference purposes only.
There is a large noticeboard available to put local events on display. These events/functions posters must be:
no more than A5 in size
within Haddenham and the surrounding areas
not simply for profit
of a suitable nature
Ultimately, the decision as to whether or not your poster or flyer will be displayed is reviewed on an individual basis and is at the discretion of the Library Manager.
The library also holds several key documents that are of local interest, such as the Haddenham Neighbourhood Plan and local maps.
